about the foundation

The foundation is set up to confer scholarships on candidates for College, Music, Dance, Theater Classes, Theater Tuition charges and any other Performing Arts candidates as specified by the Board of Directors. The Scholarships will be for applicants in the western suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. Scholarships for College, music and theater classes are expected to be $500-$1000 and theater tuition will be in the order of $300. Scholarships will be selected on a merit basis by the Board of Directors. It has been set up in memory of Dennis Taylor, a well-respected person in the western suburbs theater scene. 


Dennis Taylor

"Dennie" started dancing at an early age and soon turned his talents to the musical theatre. He frequently appeared as a featured dancer in musicals and then made the leap to choreographer. Later still he worked as a costumer and designer of wigs. In the last couple decades of his life he provided wigs for stage shows all over the western and northwest Chicago suburbs. He worked extensively with Playmakers, Tempo Players, Wheaton Drama, Elgin Community College, Steel Beam Theatre and many other area schools and theatres.
